Welcome to Western Australia

Western Australia is Australia's largest state with an area occupying one third of the Australian continent. The state is huge, the whole of Western Europe including Britain could fit within it's borders. Distances are great; with the state extending 2,400 kms from North to South and 1,600 kms from the West coast to the eastern border. WA possesses magnificent beaches of clean white sand and the beautiful, crystal clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean bordering the West coast and the Southern Ocean on the South coast of the State. Because of its vast size, there are three climatic zones in the state. The North is tropical with rains during the Summer, the South West has a Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and cool, wet winters. The interior of the state, with large desert areas, is very dry for a large part of the year.
Perth is the capital city of Western Australia. It is situated in the South West of the State on the banks of the Swan River. With a population of 1.2 million, Perth is a sophisticated city yet has it's green open spaces, and friendly, helpful people have always made Perth a unique place to visit. Perth itself is surrounded by many easily accessible attractions, from Kings Park with its breathtaking night view of the city, the world-famous Pinnacles and Wave Rock, to Perth's own resort island, Rottnest. Perth boasts beautiful wildflowers from September to November and its magnificent sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Perth is a great place to spend some time and has a great lifestyle to experience.
